St. Edmundsbury Hospital is a modern 50 bed acute mental health service with an emphasis on patient privacy. It provides a comprehensive range of services delivered by multi-disciplinary teams, in-patient and day service treatments and care for a wide range of disorders including anxiety, depression, alcohol/chemical dependence and Bipolar Mood Disorder. Treatment and care is provided by a range of mental health professionals including psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, cognitive behavioural therapists and family therapists.
The Hospital runs a Mood & Anxiety Programme consisting of psycho-educational and therapeutic components and providing symptom recognition and relapse prevention techniques, stress management and life skills.
The Hospital is set in its own grounds near the M50/N11 interchange at Lucan, Co. Dublin approximately five miles from its parent St. Patrick's University Hospital. Accommodation is mainly in en-suite single rooms.
The Dean Clinics are multidisciplinary mental health services designed to meet the mental health needs of individuals in a community setting. The service provides high quality multidisciplinary mental health interventions at community level with the full support of a range of day and in-patient services on the campus of St Patrick's University Hospital if required. The Lucan Dean Clinic is located close to St. Edmundsbury Hospital.
